Thanks Bruce for letting me know tht somebody at least can
find the post, even if other machines can't.

Thanks Jim for letting me know the subject's been covered
before, but how does one find the info?

I've posted numerous times, even you as I recall replied
w/o mentioning these innocious switches, and instead the
info I needed came from users on another forum, how come?

Is it possible the M$ forum for some reason isn't
adequately searchable, I know that alone is a sore spot in
a lot of users here.

It seems like (and I don't like the thought of it being
true) that M$'s forum seems to have only replies from pro
M$ users (MVP's, etc.) and that the theme here is (?) that
M$ doesn't want users to fix their machines, just buy new
one.

Again, I see it very difficult to search the forum, and
especially so the M$KB, I know it's not becuse M$ doesn't
have the money to fund a more decently searchable
database, so what is it?

For instance why did it take me nearly months to simply
run a 30 odd character switch to fix my problem and why
did it instead of come from you, the M$ forum, but instead
the Computing.net made up of virtually of nothing but
users?

Again, as a typical example, just try searching the M$KB
for thing like why the (Win98se's only or just both of two
laptops?) Windows help troubleshooters (for all Help
subjects) initialize but try ticking them and getting them
to follow their intended paths of checks and what happens,
both laptops Help fail to load the ticked entries, all
entries, and again in all Help subjects where TS's
is 'offered'.

Why the common user can't find something about that gets
me just a little more irritated, and pleading igmorance on
the forum seems to do little to no good as well.

Why is it that the MVP's can access and find MSKB details
when we can't? What, we have to learn booleian or whatever
it is?

Regards and hep e-trails to all, YouHoosier
