Hi Lynn,

There are a number of ways to make use of drag and drop with PSP. To open a
picture showing in Outlook Express or Internet Explorer (with PSP open, but
not the top window):

1. Left-click on a picture and continue to hold the mouse button.
2. There will be a circle with a / inside (meaning the file will not open
here).
3. Drag this special cursor to the Taskbar and hover over the PSP button--do
not drop here.
4. The PSP window will come to the top.
5. Continue the drag into the PSP window and release to open the picture in
PSP.

Alternate method

Instead of dragging the picture to the PSP window button on the Taskbar drag
the circle / cursor to a PSP program shortcut. The shortcut could be in an
open folder or it might work from the Quick Launch toolbar.

1. Left-click on a picture and continue to hold the mouse button.
2. There will be a circle with a / inside (meaning the file will not open
here).
3. Drag this special cursor to the Taskbar and hover over the PSP shortcut
or hover over a folder button with the shortcut inside--the folder will come
to the top.
4. Continue the drag onto the shortcut and release the button (drop) when
the shortcut is highlighted.
5. Paint Shop Pro will open with the picture opened. No need to have PSP
already running.

You can also place a PSP shortcut in the same folder as your saved pictures
and drag a picture file onto the shortcut and drop to open the picture in
PSP. Using a shortcut in this manner works for other types of files and
programs, too.
