For years I have had problems with my newsgroup server. Until the last few
months, if I just wait 8 hours or so it would just clear right up. Although
in the last few months, I had enough and I have been bugging the customer
support. And all it requires is to reset my newsgroup logon. As it appears
that I am still logged on and I can't do anything if another process still
thinks I am still logged on. As on my end it states I am using an invalid
user and/or password.
Well I know customer support pretty well by now and they know me. And just
on the 5th, one decided (and he seemed very convinced) that my problem is do
to Outlook Express (I only use it for newsgroups) is performing more than
one thread at a time. Which in turn causes another newsgroup logon which is
blocked by their setup (to prevent more than one user to use the account at
one time). Thus now I am locked out until something tells the system that
the original logon isn't there anymore.
Well he suggested since there isn't anyway to turn multithreading off in
Outlook Express to try something like Forté Agent (this is 2004 and not 1980
something, why not support multithreading?). Which I now already downloaded
and installed a few days ago. And so far, it seems it is working in the last
number of days.
Although I don't care much for Forté Agent and I really want to use Outlook
Express 6 instead. So does anybody know how to stop OE from performing more
than one thread at a time on my news server? Thanks in advance.
Cheers!
