There are reasons to be fed up with MSOE, but troubles with send and receive
are not among those reasons. If you can't get MSOE to work, how will you get
any other client to work? The one thing were MSOE is as good as the best
email clients is its ability to connect, and send/receive messages.

There are probably several. Some like Eudora, others like one of the Mozilla
based clients. I like Pegasus Mail. But, not wanting to dissuade you from
trying another client, you must still address the underlying problem. The
failure of MSOE to send/receive email is almost always a fixable problem.
Try to fix the problem, or you might find that it still exists when you set
up a different client.
