First up, be aware that you won't be able to use the Bellsouth SMTP server
while connected to the DSL network. I just connected to mail.bellsouth.net
through Telnet, and got the following information:

220 mail.bellsouth.net ESMTP server (InterMail vM.5.01.06.08 201-253-122-
130-108

Among the supported commands, "AUTH" is not listed. To access an SMTP server
when not connected to the server provider's network, they would need to
recognize "AUTH" as a supported command.

With two servers configured, you will get a drop down menu to select an
account in the "From:" field of the compose window. Be sure that the
"From:" account you select matches the service to which you are connected,
or MSOE will report a relaying denied message from the server.

I believe that MSOE can be set to automatically dial Bellsouth, using a RAS
dialer, if you have a dial up modem attached to the computer as well as the
DSL modem. I do that with Pegasus Mail. When I wish to send through the
CompuServe SMTP servers, Pegasus Mail invokes the dialer, connects to
CompuServe, sends the email, then hangs up. All I do is hit the "Send"
button in Pegasus Mail.

What happens is that the dial up connection overrides the DSL connection as
the Internet gateway for the duration of its existence. You don't get
disconnected from the DSL connection; it just loses its status as the
Internet gateway.

If your Bellsouth connection is going to be a secondary connection, as is my
CompuServe connection, let the DSL account be the "default" account in MSOE.
