George: Sorry about the confusion. Too many messages to read and it's easy
to overlook something as I did here.

As Robert points out, if this is your personal computer, are you logging on
as the Administrator when you make changes? If it's an office computer, you
should have an administrator who can assist you.

As for the ATL.dll, as Frank points out, the copy in the dll cache is
normally hidden, so that appears not to be the problem. Quite frankly I'm
stumped and might suggest posting in a newsgroup for your operating system
and see if someone else has an idea. Good luck.
