Two things:
1) Messenger uses your address to sign into the service. For purposes of
this messages, you said "xxxx address". If the address sounds logical and
safe to you, tell NPF to allow this action and stop asking. If there's no
way to do that, get a firewall that DOES permit it, like ZoneAlarm. But, I'm
sure NPF can be set up to recognize friendly actions and stop the questions.
You've read the instructions from start to finish, right?
2) Because MS programmers are required to mainline heroin as a prerequisite
for employment, Messenger defaults to letting itself run when Windows
starts, and it continues to run in the background after you think you've
shut it down. Go into the options menus and shut off these settings. They
are obvious and easy to find.
