Well, we sure do tend to be top posting full quoters.
I don't want to say anything bad about Gravity or Agent.
It's kind of like Eudora, say nice things but never use.

To get the fuel line connection to the q-jet I use
a crescent wrench and a vice-grip. You're supposed
to use a 1" open end and an exact-fit flare-nut wrench.
I am not prepared to invest $50 in undoing a connection.

Yes, Outlook Express is versatile. Have you tried
the Communities2 utf8 interface? PA Bear hates it.
It is not a good idea to use vice-grips on wing nuts.

Not necessarily. In Forté Free Agent, Windows > Layout; pick the layout of
the panes to suit your taste. In my case, groups to the left, article
content to the right, article list on top, spanning the two. That way I get
long lines for the article listings; all the way across the width of the
Forté Free Agent window.

Right click within the pane, group list, article list, or message, and you
get a search bar.

> ...and it looks like you can't use several newsservers - maybe I'm wrong.

Yes, and no. You only get one news server per instance of Forté Free Agent;
but you can open three instances, each set to a different news server.

No. You don't have to go through the whole process each time. Not with
MSOE6, not with Gravity. Hmmm. I used the procedure given in the O.P.'s
article. It wasn't as clear as it could have been.

You can create rules to highlight subject, and so on; both MSOE and Gravity.
You can score articles in Gravity, and sort by score. Mark threads as
watched.

I wonder, now, if you folks are "browser" oriented, though. Too bad.
Browsers are good at what they do, but they aren't the way to access news
groups. To klutzy. Kind of like using vice grips to hammer nails and remove
hex nuts. Use a hammer for nails, use a box wrench, or open-end wrench of
the proper size for the hex nuts. Save the vice grips for the wing nuts.
And use your browser to display web pages; leave the NNTP articles to proper
news clients.
