Yes, it is possible that Norton AV was running while downloading critical
updates from Microsoft. This has been happening for several months. I am
running Windows XP and IE 6.00.2800. I upgraded my operating system from
WINME to XP last year but the problem did not show up until recently.
I'm not sure whether simply disabling NAV Autoprotect is enough to prevent
interference with updating, or do you have to remove NAV completely? Is it a
good idea to do updates in SAFE MODE.
If running NAV during updating is the cause, what can I do to fix it?
Thanks for your help.
