Jerry, tools>options>read and see if read all in plain text is checked...
that might explain the attachments because the HTML part of HTML emails does
show as an attachment if that is turned on, however it does not explain why
the plain text part (and there always is a plain text part - with an HTML
copy in HTML messages) doesn't show.
Right click on a message and go properties, details and then message
source... see what's there on a few of them. If nothing it sounds like they
are really lost.
Turn off compacting in the background if it's on and do it manually once a
week or whatever.
See this site for more info, find the details about file corruption, often
AntiVirus programs that use email scanning cause file corruption and see
what you can salvage and then consider deleting the inbox.dbx as per site
instructions... sorry I am a bit short of time...
By all means wait for other ideas but make a note of this anyway for future
reference.
