thanks for all these links DGuess, but am not sure they are
the answer to the problem. As I see it, this error message
is coming up at the wrong time as it appears immediately
you get into OE, before you have a chance to log on, so it
isn't that you can't save the password, the message about
not being able to find the host comes up before you get a
chance to login and connect. Once you get rid of the error
message the log-in box is visible and waiting for your
password and once you have put that in, all proceeds normally
