can clicking on 'forward' open a virus in OE-6?

Hi, I have received an email from someone I do not know in outlook express
who uses the same ISP as myself. I decided I would forward it to the tech
support of my ISP. I did not open it. But I noticed that if I right click
on the message, the option "forward" is possible. So I though that THAT is a
good way to forward the message without opening it so that my ISP can check
it out and see if it is a virus or such.
Well, when I rt-clicked on it and I clicked forward, of course a new box
popped up with all the headers ready for me to get it finished.
However, when I did that, I noticed that it opened it up and I did not read
it long enough to finish the forwarding. I just 'x' out. I than noticed
that the email is not in bold faced (like when its unread) so I just marked
it as 'unread' again. Did I open it without realizing it??? I have avg so I
will probably scan for viruses. Please enlighten me as to what I did and if
it might have caused any harm. I dont know 'yet' if this was a virus or
just someone accidently sending me a email with no harm intended. thanks in
advance
