Hi Shane,
Thank you for posting here.
The issue may occur if the server is not avaiable. Does the issue still
exists now? If so, please delete the currect hotmail account and readd it.
1. Backup the emails and delete the account.
2. Click Accounts on the Tools menu.
3. Click Add, and then click Mail.
4. In the "Display name" box, type your name, and then click Next.
5. In the "E-mail address" box, type your Hotmail address, and then
click Next.
6. Click HTTP in the "My incoming mail server is" box. If Hypertext
Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is not an available choice, you are using an
earlier version of Outlook Express that does not support Hotmail.
To upgrade your version of Outlook Express, view the following Microsoft
Update Web site:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.compublic/EN-US/OutLookExpress_ICWemailserver
namebox.gif: My incoming mail server is an HTTP server
7. In the "My HTTP mail service provider is" box, click Hotmail.
8. Confirm that "http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp"
(without quotation marks) is in the "Incoming mail (POP3), IMAP or HTTP
server" box, and then click
Next.public/EN-US/OutLookExpress_ICWhotmailservernamebox.gif: My HTTP
mail service provider is Hotmail
9. In the "Account name" box, type your Hotmail account name.
10. In the Password box, type your password, click Next, and then click
Finish. Your new account appears on the Mail tab of the Internet
Accounts dialog box.
11. Click Close. At the prompt to download folders from the mail server
that you added, click Yes.
For more information, please refer to the following article. This article
describes how to configure Outlook Express to send and receive e-mail
messages from a Hotmail e-mail account.

If the issue still exists, please capture a screen shot of the error so
that I can understand the issue clearly.
To capture a screen shot, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: When the error message appears, press the Pr Scrn key located at
the
top-right corner of the keyboard to capture a screen shot.
Step 2: Click Start, select Run, type MSPAINT in the Open box, and then
click OK.
Step 3: Use Ctrl + V to paste the screen shot to the canvas. When we are
prompted
to enlarge the bitmap, press Y or Enter.
Step 4: Click the File (or press Alt+ F) menu and select Save.
Step 5: Select Desktop in the 'Save in' box and type 'screen' in the File
name
box.
Step 6: Select JPEG in the Save as type box and click OK.
The screen shot is located on the Desktop and named screen.jpg. Then,
attach the file with your reply.
Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Jack Wang, MCSE 2000, MCSA, MCDBA, MCSD

| Hello,
|
| Recently I have had problems trying to download mail from my Hotmail
| accounts into Outlook Express.
|
| I am getting the message:
| "This service does not currently work with Outlook Express."
|
| There was not a problem before. Is there a fix for this?
|
| Thanks,
| Shane
