Sporadic Identity Problem

I have a new PC with WinXP Home 2000 SP1. I've tried reading through
messages here, but I haven't been able to find one that matches my problem.
Pardon me if I've missed an answer.

I've seen this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q329084

However, this doesn't seem like the problem I'm having. I can switch
identities fine. I can do it back and forth and everything looks as smooth
as silk. Suddenly though, I'll try and switch and OE hangs (I'd say about
every 4 times). It won't resolve itself, even if I end the task and restart
OE. I have to completely reboot to get it to work again. It's a real pain.

Another thing. I *want* it to prompt me which identity to choose at startup
and have followed the instructions (given both in the article above and in
the help files), but to no avail. It *never* asks which identity. Instead,
it remembers the last one used.

Any help is appreciated.

Cindy
