I can't send emails with attachments.

I have Explorer 6 and Outlook 6. Whenever I try and send
an outgoing email with an attachment, the email gets
stuck in my outbox and never gets sent. In addition, OE
immediately becomes non-responsive and I have to
terminate the program and re-open it again. I have been
to every website (Dell, Cox Cable, Motorola) in search of
the fix and cannot find anything. I have McAfee Firewall
but I disabled it and still no solution. Any help is
greatly appreciated.
