Bette,
I will try to help you... Have you stored a ton of E Mails in any of
the following folders? Inbox, Sent Items, Outbox, Drafts, or
Deleted Items folder? They are NOT to be used for storing mails
of any quantity... If you have a bunch of them in any of those folders
I suggest that you RIGHT click LOCAL FOLDERS and select NEW FOLDER
and put a name on it and move the bulk of the E Mails to it. You might also
have a look at Tools/Options and at the Maintainance tab, click Clean up
NOW button and make sure it says Outlook Express in the top bar and
then click the COMPACT button.. This could take some time if you have
a ton of mail.. OK your way out and close OE and then reopen it and see
if this helps any... If not, post back and we will try to help you some
more.
Also, open your virus scanner and uncheck SCAN E MAIL... It is not
necessary that this be checked... Your VS will scan it anyway.
Hope this helps.
