Donald: Spaz is not updated to SP2 according to his headers. Maybe a corrupted install caused by an antivirus program running in the background during an update. If there is a check in the Show Preview box, the image should appear unless something has affected the file association for image files. In that case, try changing the file association for all graphic files as outlined at this link:

The only way I'm able to stop that preview thumbnail from working is to turn the function off by removing the checkmark in "Show Preview" in that dialog box. I tried enabling and disabling all the new security settings in SP2, and none of them seem to have any affect on that preview box on my machine:o(

You might try posing your question over in the technical group for Outlook Express, maybe someone over there can shed some light on this problem for you.

I should have stated that in my post........sorry :-)) I did have it
checked. I unchecked it, closed OE, rebooted, checked it again and still no
preview. It was obviously something in the SP2 update. I wonder if I try
to reinstall SP2 if it will let me without uninstalling it first. I
installed from the free CD that I've had for 3mos.

I guess I should ask the obvious question first:o)
Are you sure you have a checkmark in the "Show Preview" checkbox in the
Select Stationery dialog box:

It should be checked as in this screenshot:


If you already have a checkmark in this box, try unchecking it and close
Outlook Express.
Then reopen Outlook Express and put the checkmark back in.

Hello..........using WinXP home..........just installed SP2. When I go to
Message/New Message Using/Select Stationery.......my stat folder opens as
always, but when I click on an html/stat file to use, it no longer shows
