I believe the changes were made approximately nine months ago. Additionally, I understand that the reason for this is that viruses were being introduced into some News Groups via attachments, but the OE Stationery Newsgroup seldom uses attachments. I doubt this savvy Group would open an attachment, in any event, being aware of the current security problems. I am writing to briefly describe the situation, as seen by one new member of the Group. I even refer to myself as "Neophyte;" which I am. :-) Also, I would respectfully request that you, and your colleagues, institute whatever action is necessary to reestablish the operating parameters that existed for the News Group prior to the changes. Perhaps, you could check some of the postings in the Group to see some of the concerns. I sincerely appreciate your consideration in this matter and thank you in advance for any assistance that you and your associates may provide to resolve this problem.
