Fly like an EagleHi Annie,

LOL...That shoots down my attempt to fit the error into a tidy package.

This is the Original Script that Richard posted a couple of years ago, as
you can see it has numerous goodies in it including a Flash Open button(this
is one I made and not Richards original). Also there are some onclick
controls in the Popup to control midi volume and scrolling.

Most importantly in this case, is this Textbox you are reading from.
Someone has altered the script to remove the Flash button, the popup
controls and this Textbox. The problem arises that when this Textbox
Division was removed from the HTML file, the positioning scripting was not
removed. And this is what is causing the error message for those that are
getting it.

If you are not getting the error in the Preview Window like Fitzie and I
are, it could be that the "on error resume next" statement in the
Window_onload routine is blocking the error for you?

At any rate, in the altered version of this script that Yas is using either
the text box Division "origTextbox" should be added back to the script or
the scripting for it should be removed in order to prevent the error message
for anyone that is getting it.

I've left Richard's original text message(see below)in this, however for
brevity I have inserted my own images, Flash file, and sound files.

It should be noted here(and I assume this is why Martin altered the script
to begin with)that this script was written before the release of WMP9 with
it's associated Active Movie control problems. So if the original script is
used now, one must use the AMC to BGSOUND method to get the Flash and sound
files to embed in a way that will allow those with WMP9(without the AMC
re-enabled)to see the Flash file and the sounds. Also, all the sound
stop||start statements must be remmed out to prevent errors, as I've done
here.

Hope this sheads a little more light on this issue for you Annie.

Don

Hi all,

Here's one with a script that I have been working on that does panoramas a
different way. By using the "fliph" in the filter, as in: style='FILTER:
alpha (opacity=100, finishopacity=0, style=0) fliph', a new mirrored image
is created 'on the fly' for both the scrolling background picture and the
flying eagle GIF in this case. I stole the GIF and wave sound from one of
Ralph's posts (Thanks, Ralph).

The scrolling picture is 1871px wide x 400px high. By creating the mirrored
image 'on the fly', and alternating them in the scroll, you end up with the
same thing that you would have if you made a single mirrored image that was
twice as wide or 3742px wide in this case. This allows you to cut way down
on the size of the post. In this post the huge midi added about 100K+ to the
final size of the post, but hey - it sounds good. The large midi and the
SWiSH basically doubled the size of this post.

Also, in the FS pop up, there are some controls that you can "pop up", to
stop/restart the scroll, reverse the scroll, pause/play the midi and control
the midi volume. I made the controls completely from HTML code - DIV's
BUTTON's and text - no graphics. This of course required writing a bunch of
VBScript code to make the controls work.

The scrolling picture was generated by Vistapro 3, an old DOS program that I
dusted off after several years. It used to take a long time to render a
virtual landscape on the old 486, but runs pretty fast on a K6-2 550. The
program is primitive by today's standards, but still creates some
interesting images.

This script is still a work in progress. I have another version that has
even more features. It works fine when launched from my HTML editor, but
won't work correctly when emailed.
