What about people who have "obtained" the beta from private sources........they would have signed nothing .

I can't comment about XPSP2.
I will say that those who leak the information are in violation of the Non-Disclosure Agreement they signed with MS, and if they violate such an agreement, then how can you trust their reputation to leak accurate information?

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the input. Your remarks here are curious with respect to the mass hysteria
that has erupted in the Stationery community with regards to Scripted email
messages in IE||OE SP2.
As I am not a Beta tester I can't add or detract from information(both on the web and in
the Stationery News Groups) that has fueled this hysteria, namely that Scripted email messages
will no longer work in OE SP2.
The only references to the subject in MS's Documentation on SP2 is pretty vague at this point:
Safer E-mail Handling Technologies:
This content is not available in this preliminary release.
So most of us have pretty much had to rely on leaked information regarding the beta release of SP2.
Thanks again for taking some interest in this issue.

Let me just respond, given the constraints John has indicated.
First of all, I cannot indicate that I am a beta tester, but if you look at the message header of this message (you can use the new View Message Source button in OETool (www.oehelp.com/OETool/)), that will give an indication of what version of OE I am using.
Second, I've been looking at some of these posts, including the scrolling script ones, and they operate fine.
Third, What is this guy's source of information? I would not believe everything that you read.
Fourth, I've been in the background as an MVP and have repeatedly stressed the importance to a signficant proportion of users (such as the one's in this group) that stationery and scripting have in OE messages. I have also stressed the artistic creativity that such provides (giving examples such as Tarsinge's posts). I will continue to stress such.
Finally, if someone can reliably indicate what stationery / scripting features no longer work with SP2, then they can email me and I'll look into it.
cheers,
steve
