Re: IE6 not displaying graphs? Java?

Hi,
I suspect that these graphs require Javascript- not Java, but...
Most versions of XP didn't include Jave (Sun) or Microsoft's Virtual
Machine. You can download Java from
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Javascript problems- possible fixes...

Go to Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone, set it to Default.

Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete
files (and delete offline content when that dialog pops up) It's often
recommended that the TIF folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)

Check any third-party security programs to see if one of them is blocking
scripts, scripting, active content. Norton Internet Security and a number of
other programs can be configured to block scripts.

Try these two commands from Start> Run> cmd [enter]
regsvr32 vbscript.dll [enter]
regsvr32 jscript.dll [enter]

Reinstall the scripting engine. Go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
for the appropriate download of Windows Script 5.6

Re-registering the DLLs listed in this article may help:

Hope this helps,

I'm using a WinXP-pro PC with MS IE6. It also has McAfee, AdAware, and
the
usual stuff. The drive was recently re-formatted, and everything was
re-installed.

For a small website I maintain, the web host company enables clients like
me
to view "statistics" over the web... numbers and graphs about traffice,
etc.
Before re-formatting the drive, my "stats" used to show the graphs, but
now
they don't appear.

The hosting company isn't sure what the problem is, but thinks it's
because
I'm not using or enabling "java". I can't find anywhere in Tools >
Internet
Options > Advanced .... anything about Java

1) Is there a way to enable java (but) would that open up the PC to other
problems like viruses, scripts, etc.?

2) Is it something else I need to turn on or off. I don't recall
"installing" anything to get these graphs to display before the re-format.

Thanks,
George
