Hi,
I've had "Install on demand" (IE and other) unchecked for a long time and
haven't missed it. But then, I may not be visiting sites where a language
pack would be helpful.
As far as reversing "Never install any language packs." If you choose that
option, it will set a registry value. So... it can be reversed via regedit
if you can find the value. Example: Outlook Express has a key at
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\5.0\Dont Show Dialogs]
where various "Don't show this again" options can be reversed by changing
the value from 1 to 0.
You might try this... Download and install RegShot from
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download965.html or
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Registry-Tweak/Reg-Shot.shtml Install it
and experiment with it. Before clicking on "Never install any language
packs" take a snapshot. Click the "Never install" box then take a second
shot. Compare the two to see what changed in the registry.
Regmon from http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html is a more
powerful tool, but you will have to choose good filter terms to cut results
down to a manageable number.

supported.
On another forum I was advised to use this option but that did not seem to
be correct. Perhaps you can help answer my underlying question.
I am running IE 6 under Win XP Pro in the United States. When visiting
foreign sites, a window often pops up asking whether I want to install a
language packs. I have always declined. I am tempted to check the box that
says
"Never install any language packs". However, I need to know how to restore
the ability to install a language pack at my option in the future if

If you right-click those entries, there's a What's this option. It will
provide some information.
For more information, a Google search is a good place to start. You
searchstart by searching just microsoft. For example, this in the google
