I have just tried it and no problem here. You could try this:

1) Insert the Win XP CD - original in CD drive

2) Open Start / Run and type:
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
c:\windows\inf\ie.inf
{ just copy and paste to make life easier }

3) Press ENTER or click OK

4) Follow the instructions on screen
