Lost everything while trying to fix Internet Explorer...

After Updating to Windows 98SE from 95... I started
getting a pop-up box saying: "Internet Explorer 6.0 set-
up"... So I clicked on the Explorer icon to set-up, and
got another box saying: "that it's already done"... Then
somemore boxes saying: "eixt set-up", other
saying: "reinstall commponents"... I click exit, and click
on Explorer icon, instead of it opening Igot the set-up
page again & also get the Internet Explorer 6.0 pop-up
box... Then I redid the set-up, and got the exit set-up
box & reinstall commponents box, this time I clicked on
reintall commponents box, and it started reloading... Then
after reload finished, I got a box saying: "Explorer
program is running illegally. persistance shut down
system... Then I was booted off-line & my PC completely
shut down, then restarted again, & I also got a box
saying: "Command line option syntax error. Type Command/?
for help... I can even download Explorer 4.0 from the CD
that I have, I keep on getting a box saying: "can't find
the Driver for Explorer download" Now I even lost my
Explorer icon... My questions are: (1.)Where am I able to
go to type any Command in, when a box said to?? (2.)Where
can I buy Windows 98SE CD, & how much are they?? or do I
have to upgrade to Windows ME??
