Re: (1) OE msgs stuck -again- in outboxs! (2) How to reduce or compress photo msgs?

Thank you very much, Brian. I split my list into100s a long time ago and
worked at first, then it started again, so I split into 50s and even 25s and
still get stuck in the outbox.(I have close to 300 names all of whom had
asked me to put them there). I tried sending to only one person, and
sometimes goes out but now it also gets stuck. This has gone on for 6 days
now. Today I experienced new: and weird bounces such as:

(1) host 172.16.0.71[172.16.0.71] said: 550 5.7.1 The message MIME header
contained Content-Type: message/partial (in reply to end of DATA command)

The following bounces also come with the same attachment which I quoted
below under (A):

(2) The following message to <____> was undeliverable. The reason for the
problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 554-'5.7.1 MIME type message/partial not
accepted here'

(3) The following message to <_____> was undeliverable. The reason for the
problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-"Your message contains a fragmented
attachment named '' which is not allowed\nfor security reasons"

(4) The following message to <_____> was undeliverable. The reason for the
problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'5.5.0 Mail rejected for container policy
reasons.'

(5) Other msgs bounce with the following msg, not shoign my own msg, and
with an attachment icon:

No virus found in this incoming message.
Checked by AVG Free Edition.
Version: 7.5.503 / Virus Database: 269.15.10/1091 - Release Date: 10/24/2007
2:31 PM

(6) 17 times of the identical bounce with the same attachment that doesn't
work and a blank space.

(A) When I open the attachment to see what else it explains... it says:
"This file doesn't have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel." I
tried this but none of the programs I have can open it. Besides I'm
receiving many of these and I couldn't possibly spend so much time trying to
see which file is associated, etc.

I hope this isn't considered spam and I'm sorry to have taken so much space
to show the problems of which #1 is stuck in the outbox. And also if
someone could explain to me in plain English rather than technical, what
these weird bounces mean and how to avoid them, I'd be forever so grateful!
Thanks so much again! :o) Adela

A word to AMUN. Unless you have something constructive to say, please
keep your sticky fingers off the keyboard.

My wife is secretary of a large choir, and each week she has to send
announcements to over 100 members (using bcc for legal reasons). We have
to keep the email addresses in two different lists, as our ISP puts an
upper limit on the number of recipients an individual message can have
(from memory it's about 80, but it differs from one ISP to another). If
we exceed this limit, we get precisely the error message Adela gets. It
has nothing to do with spam. In the UK it is necessary to send to
multiple recipients using bcc in order to comply with the Data
Protection Act - as otherwise everybody would get everybody else's email
address. Or I guess you could send over 100 individual emails, one to
each recipient - if you have the time and/or software to do it, and
think that clogging up the internet with masses of duplicate emails is a
good thing to do. :-(

Adela, you could try reducing the number of recipients by splitting them
into smaller mailing lists. I suggest you try to find out what limit
your ISP sets on the number of recipients.
