Greetings Byron. I am in your exact position. The answer
to your question is "yes." I answer that very loosely
because I have yet to experience any real success
attempting to make IE modifications to the clients on our
    network.

If you have Active Directory I would suggest you go that
route. Otherwise, download IEAK6 SP1 and acquaint yourself
with the Profile Manager portion. (It looks much like the
System Policy Editor interface.) You'll need an IIS server
to function as the distribution point.

The non-tech explanation of how it works is that you will
essentially create customized .ins files along with
IE .cab files. In your clients' browser their "Auto
Config. Script" will point to the .ins or "Install.ins"
config file on the IIS server. Somehow the end user's
browser is supposed to magically respond to this new file
and all settings will be updated. I have had very limited
success. For example, the browser title bar or homepage
will set where I want it to, but the nitty gritty
important stuff like "Restricted Sites" or "Trusted Sites"
    don't change accordingly.

As with most MS products, your mileage will vary. I'd be
interested to learn of your results. No one else in this
IEAK6 forum tends to actually use IEAK6.

Hopefully this is enough info to get you started.

    Eugenio
