I found the folder ETC and in it several file folders. By sending them to
Notepad I was able to see what was in them. After reviewing the content
lines I am not sure what I am looking at, for, or what I need to edit. Can
you help?
The file you need to edit is HOSTS with no extension. To keep it from blocking a site place a # and a space in front of the 127.0.0.1 at the beginning of any line referring to that site.
Actually, you can remove the line but then you can't put it back by removing the '# '.
