the computer was infected with wom.win.32.netsky
i have used smithfraudfix and now is better
but still when going to internet tools and general tab
clear history gets frozen and task manager says not responding
Without the implication of other malware interference still present
that symptom is usually associated with corruption of the TIF
or interference from other "security" apps. So, instead of using
the Delete Files dialog you could use a different administrative
account to delete the problem user's complete Temporary Internet Files
subdirectory. That has the effect of deleting the Content.IE5\index.dat
which is the only way that that can happen in an NTx OS.
i have used procmon but not very familiar
sorry my ignorance
pls help
Please answer all questions (both explicit and implied) if you need help.

on IE6 sp2 going to tools...internet options..privacy..when i move the slider
up or down and then press ok or apply gets frozen
from the task manager i see....not responding....
is there anything i can do??
Use ProcMon to find out what is happening.
Are you running other programs, when you try this?
(such as security programs)
Compare with what happens if *nothing* else is running.
You could go even further and not run IE.
E.g. another way to open the Privacy settings dialog is to Run...
control inetcpl.cpl,,2
As a quick way of preventing things from starting
you could try doing a safe mode boot and holding down a Shift- key.
BTW it may be significant to know if you have anything in the Sites list
and if you have things in the Sites list if they were put there manually
or automatically by various anti-spyware apps.
