No matter what I do, checking the registry entries, using hijackthis,
Spysweeper, antivirus checks, I can not find where verizon.msn takes over
plain msn.
My internet explorer is one that came with windows, and not the updated or
changed by verzion.
Just by typing in www.verizon.msn.com on my computer to try and figure out
why my email / screen name would not down load Spysweeper or McAfee
antivirus. Since I have a dial up account with msn these are free.
But Verizon.msn blocks it. And, now this computer, when I type in
www.msn.com goes to verizon.msn.com
Where is that address change located at??? so I can fix it. Also for some
reason explorer will not let me post a new thread on this site, but reply it
will allow. To be able to post here I am using firefox..
I can easily fix the problem by re-loading my partition with my saved
Acronis backup of July. The problem with that is it will take a few hours
to update that partition once it loaded, since it’s about 24 updates or
so behind.
Yes I Know some of you would say just down load them all at once, but that
causes problems, MS has not fixed yet. I learned that lesson 3 years ago,
an MS tech said down load and install 3 updates max, due some update
overlapping and changes written will over write and create problems. And,
That generally requires a reboot.
So I would prefer the fix if possible.
