Re: Moving Internet History

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks for the info. I changed the registry paths, but all that is showing
up is the index.dat file. I deleted everything in the old History folder
including the index.dat. Then I went to a few webpages and the index.dat
file shows up in the new History folder, but that's it. I'm either missing
something or not doing something right?

Thanks for your help!

You can move the history folder by modifying the path in these two
registry keys.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Sh
ell Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Us
er Shell Folders

There will be some stuff left in the old History folder (like the
index.dat file) that can be deleted using an Administrator account.
