Re: Fit print on page?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Oops!

Sorry, spoke too soon and missed your last bit about having to go to see if
it had popped up in toolbar custom options. It had of course - such a quick
download it does not seem to be doing anything!

Hope the creator 'AdrianBa' is still up and well, as the links to Visiontech
and his blog entries are all several years old.

Thanks again,

S

Thanks very much for the idea Don (and sorry Larry: I already tried
minimising the margins),

The Visiontech idea add on looks just the job, but the link given goes to
a page of links that simply alternate back and forth to each other without
downloading anything.

Any other sources out there?

Regards,

S

Hi,
If the page is primarily text, you could try a smaller text size- IE>
View>
Text size.

If changing the text size doesn't work, try this freeware program
(ActiveX
control / IE toolbar add-on) from
http://www.visiontech.ltd.uk/software/

Internet Explorer Fitted-Width Printing

Have you ever printed a web page only to find that the right-hand edge is
missing? This is for you. First, this download page will install the
control. After installation, close the browser window and reopen a new
one.
You should have a new printer icon with a small 'W' next to it on the
toolbar. Press this to bring up a print dialog which will then print the
page fitted to the width of your paper. Alternatively, hold down the
Control
key while pressing the button and you will get a print preview instead.

Note: After downloading this ActiveX Object (into Downloaded Program
Files)
you may have to go to IE> View> Toolbars> Customize to find and display
the
icon.

Hope this helps,
Don

In the past I had problems with items printed from web pages not fitting
on
the page when printed even though they appear to do so in print preview.
This problem now seems to be back for many web pages, where fields down
the
left side take up so much room that the printed words go several words
off
the rhs. Even when I set the margins to the minimum it still won't fit.
How
do I get a PROPER print preview and adjust the settings correctly?

Cheers,
