IE6 freezes for 3 minutes

Everytime I launch IE 6 or open a new window in IE6, it would freeze
for a few minutes before it becomes active. From Task Manager, the
status is running all the time but I can't click anything on the page.
How can I find out what it's doing or any addon is causing this?

Is there a way to uninstall and install a fresh copy of IE6 under
Windows XP SP2?
