Hi Alison,
What search provider are you using in the search pane? Google, MSN or other.
The search provider may have made recent changes to the way their side
search bars launch links...
Also check your setting for "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" on the
Advanced tab of Internet Options. My setting is unchecked.
Alternatively you can always drag and drop links from the Search Pane to
your main window to show them in the current IE window instead of launching
a new window.
There have been a few complaints about the IE7 search pane (pain). It may
also be a bug in the IE6 recovery from IE7.
Regards.

Hi - I had installed Internet Explorer 7 but it was a pain in the bazoo -
I
prefer to use the left hand search pane window so that I can click on the
search results and see with web page on the right without having to go
back
and forth on one page. So I uninstalled v7.0, but not my Explorer 6 won't
allow me to click on the left hand page search result and have the result
show up on the right side. I can right click and open in a new window, but
I
can't single click and have the page open. What do I need to do to correct
this?
Thanks
.
