If my problem has nothing to do with a password issue, would you happen to
have any ideas as to what is causing my connecting problems when the email
works OK. I have Windows XP.

All of a sudden I'm having a difficult time always getting online with
Internet Explorer. It worked just fine since purchasing a new computer in
July. The email program works just fine, but when I attempt to get in to a
website it won't come on line. I go into Tools-Internet Options-Connections
Tab-Settings-and look at the Password field to discover that it has too many
characters in it, so I change it to the correct password and click OK and OK
again to get out. Sometimes that works and Internet Explorer connects, and
sometimes it does not. So I go through the same routine under Tools and
there it is again....wrong Password. Why won't the Password field stay
changed to the correct password!@!@!

The password is not being changed. SP always add ** to the password field to prevent anyone from
knowing the actual number of characters in the password. This is done for your protection.
