Thanks Hans for replying,
The IE error log message says:
Error Signature AppName:iexplorer.exe AppVer:6.0.2900.2180 ModName:
jscript.dll ModVer: 5.6.0.8831 Offset:000246c4
Shame that I cant paste the screen dump onto this forum.

Rob

I use a site called www.freetvonline.com and I am having problems with mythe
browser closing when I play media on this particular site.
Basically I have replied before to this newsgroup and no one has come upbroadband
with a soloution for me. I use Windows XP home and IE 6 and have a
connection. What is happening that when I click on a Quicktime link to playSometimes
a stream the usual standard error message from Microsoft comes up.
straight away and then other times a minute or two later.
The message appears to say a jscript.dll file in the error log is causingmy
the problem and I have tried re-registering the offending file and updated
script engine as well.
When I click on Windows media link I don't have a problem. So I have tried
disabling Windows Media Player plugin from my add-ons and this seems to cure
the problem when watching streams on Quicktime. Some streams are linked to
Quicktime and some are Windows Media Player.
Does this mean I have to disable plugins in my addons in IE6 to watch
streams? Is there some kind of confict going on? Can anyone please help me
with my problem or is this quite normal to disable add ons when you have
browser plug in problems?
Do I have a serious problem that needs addressing?
Regards,
Rob
Hi Rob,
You say what the error message says "basically", but that is not enough:
please quote the exact message, on a line by itself. Paraphrasing leads to
guessing...
This is my guess: you need to reinstall Quicktime from www.apple.com.
And/or you might want to download and install the latest version (10) of
Windows Media Player and let it install itself as default medium player.
Kind regards
Hans
