Re: Password Management

Hi,
Assuming Windows XP...
Website passwords are in this registry key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW]

The cookie is necessary if you have checked the "Remember me" box on a
webpage. For IE's dropdown Autocomplete list, it's not.

Is there a clear passwords option in Window Washer? Deleting cookies and
clearing the IE cache (Temporary Internet Files) shouldn't clear
Autocomplete passwords.

Hope this helps,

Where are 'remembered' passwords kept for Internet sites visited... you
know,
when Windows asks you if you want it to remember the data? I have made it
a
habit to delete all Temporary Internet Files (including Cookies), and
still
have had the password auto-complete work just fine in Internet Explorer.
THEN I installed Webroot's "Window Washer" to do this automatically when
exiting IE. It works fine, but the passwords are lost. If passwords are
saved like Cookies, why does Window Washer delete them when a manual
deletion
of these files did not? Or are the passwords saved somewhere else that
Window Washer has access to that I don't? Any ideas?
