Oh darn, you didn't disclose your OS, did you?

I suspect that this, plus the clue that you could revert to IE5.5
means that it's Win2K? Perhaps SP4?

Unfortunately that OS' drwtsn32 seems not to provide the name
of the crashing module which is what I was expecting to see
in the SBT.


BTW why do you think that it is mshtml.dll?

I'm actually surprised to see the subject entry point mentioned for it.
FWIW I don't have it in mine for IE7b2 though apparently it was there
in XPsp1. More importantly the base address seems wrong
though that is known to change.


In the past other Win2K users have found that they needed to check
drwtsn32's Dump symbol table option in order to get any clues about
module name at all in their dumps.


Also, assuming my guess about your OS is correct,
have you tried an IE Repair yet? E.g. Run...

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance
