Re: IE6 Reinstallation to Fix Registry

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi JCO,

This is Vincent again.

From the KB article, Q318378, this method applies to Windows XP and SP1.
I'm not sure if it applies to Windows 2000(it appears to be the same issue
with another thread you posted). Please feel free to post back if problem
persists.

BTW,shall we close the older thread and follow up in this thread?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Vincent Xu

QED: What's wrong with the Registry that it needs to be fixed? What
leads
you to believe that reinstalling IE6 will fix it?

simply change at two location in the Registry the Number 1 (for true)
to
the
number 0 (for false). It basically signifies that IE is no longer
installed. Therefore you can put the IE6sp1 disk in the computer and
re-install.

If anybody knows what I'm talking about, can you please let me know
again
(which I will store in my archives).

Thanks in advance.
