Under IE 5 and 5.5 This option was always clearly available under the
Menu Item FILE. However it is no longer the case with 6.


This was a known problem for other OS.

Wonderful !!!!!!! That fixed it. I visited this page at technet
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q257693

There, it clearly explained why it was happening. Because I use a
local file on my computer as my homepage ( a series of html links
that serve as shortcuts to other web sites) this was causing the
problem, though it never occurred to me it would be.

One work around is required each time of Opening IE. However, the
better solution was via the Registry and a new folder in Windows
Explorer as well as a new entry in the *Homepage* settings under
Tools. Now I have *Work Offline* available to me.

The Registry is not for everyone, I know, but it was not difficult to
do and yes I did back it up first.

So Thank you so very much Robert. A niggling problem finally got
solved.
And once again it proves the value of these Newsgroups.
