Re: autocomplete in IE6

Hi,
Clearing all passwords should reset the "Save Password" option. IE> Tools>
Options> Content> Autocomplete> Clear Passwords.

Protected Storage PassView from http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html will
help you recover other cached passwords *before* you clear all passwords.

If you don't want to clear all passwords this method from Robert Aldwinckle
may help

This *sometimes* works. Delete the Cookie associated with that page.
Then using AutoComplete for that userid delete that userid.
You will get a message to the effect that you would be deleting a userid
and password combination. This is good. Allow that. Now re-enter
your userid and password. Sign on. At this point you will again be given
the choice to save the password. One further wrinkle in this scenario
which I have seen is that the next time you try to use the "saved" password
you may not see any asterisks. Ignore that and pretend that you do see
the asterisks and assume that the password will be presented properly.
Try to logon. I'm not sure if eventually you do see the asterisks or not.

Hope this helps,

hi, i have previously been sharing my pc with someone else and had refused
autocomplete for my hotmail and yahoo email accts id and p/w. now i am the
sole owner of this machine and i wish to know how to get IE to prompt me
again to save my id and p/w info for this 2 sites' logon page. My IE
autocomplete options have always been checked from the day i bought the pc
(for web adresses, user name and passwords, and prompt to save passwords),
and it has never been changed. i have no problem for other sites that i
have
enabled autocomplete for id and p/w, they work perfectly. Just want to get
it
set up for this 2 websites so i can avoid typing in the info every time. i
have looked through some of threads in this newgroup but my autocomplete
settings are fine and the function works well on other sites...
has anyone encountered the same problem as i have and knows the solution?
greatly appreciate any help offered!
