Sorry, I left town for a few days (nothing illicit).
I am running 1.3.0_4 on one unit, 1.4.0_6 on another, and 1.5.0_6 on two
other units, all with the same problem, the hang up of IE6 when accessing
certain websites. Other website work fine.
I also have other units on the same network using each of those versions of
JRT and have no problem.

Hi,

What version of Java are you running? I removed the latest Java (5_6) and I
have not had the problem in a couple of days. I had read that there were
some problems with it. I am still monitoring it to see if it occurs, and
will let you know.

Yes, I can ping Yahoo, Dell, and some others. I don't get responses from
MSN, Microsoft, HP, and McAfee. Of course those are the ones I want.
Seems
like something is blocking contact with some internet sites but not all.
Is
this the firewall that is doing this? How did it decide to select the
sites
I use most often?
I have also opened windows in the safe mode and disabled the add-ons I
don't
recognize. Didn't help. Should I try to shut them all down?

I am having the same problem. I usually get "page not found" after it
sits
for a while trying to download the webpage. All other network
connections
are fine, and is it just the communications in IE and Outlook stops as
well
(server not found errors). Can you drop to a command window and ping
yahoo.com successfully. I find that I can, and that the problem is just
within IE and outlook.

I am having the same problems. I will continue to research the problem
and
will keep you posted if I find anything helpful.

I have 4 computers on my home network, 1 running Win XP Home SP2, 1
running
Win XP Pro SP2, and two running Win XP Entertainment Center, and all
protected with MS firewall and Norton or McAfee antivirus, that
started
hanging. The remaining 5 computers run OK. There is no problem
connecting
to other computers on the network, and on two of the computers there
is
access to other internet sites other than MS. I cannot download
updates
to
Windows of McAfee but I can download updates to Norton AV 2005. On
some
of
the computers IE says website found, but never loads it, and others
partially
load MSN.com but won't complete the task and then hang.
I have installed Netscape to see if IE 6 was flawed but it did the
same
thing.
Other computers on the network are configured the same and do not have
the
problem.
Any advice?
