Re: IE 6 Not Responding after KB905474

To see if 905474 is causing the problem (I doubt it), uninstall it ["Windows Genuine Advantage Notifictions (KB905474)"] via Add/Remove Programs & reboot. (Make certain the Show Updates box is checked.)

This morning the WGA KB905474 was installed and since then my Internet
Explorer freezes consistently when in news groups .... but only when
trying to read a thread.

IE6 seems to be fine for general browsing.

I do not think that I have changed other settings/programs to bring
about this problem....in any event this is the latest change and I just
noticed the problemr.

To verify I would need to uninstall KB905474, but of course this seems
to have been disabled.

I am running a legal version of XP Pro with all the latest updates and
patches.

Suggestions would be appreciated.
