IE6 meltdown. How to reinstall

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

My copy of Internet Explorer has totally died on me. It will open up OK
and it appears to locate the file I'm trying to access but it only
displays a blank page.

Not only that but most of the menu options will not do anything
including [File][Open], [Tools][Internet Options], or even
[Help][About].

I've had the 'blank page' error before and this is definitely something
different so the usual fixes

regsvr32 ***.dll (that list of five or six dlls)
iefix application.

Will not work.

I've also tried reinstalling the latest cumulative IE update and even
reinstalling SP2 but to no avail.

I've even tried disabling all plugins (via the control panel as I can't
even accessthat form inside IE)

Is there any other way of reinstalling IE6 on an SP2 computer?

Please don't suggest I move to Firefox or another browser. I'm in no
doubt they do certain things miles better than IEexplorer but they're
still not so much better that I want to completely ditch IExplorer,
especially as...

a) I've got several essential IE plugins that just are not available on
any other browser
b) I need it to test any website I design
c) Windows Update won't work without IE
