Hi user_comp_ie :-)
While it won't help get your Cookies back at this point, here is a free
utility that may help prevent loss of information such as Cookies,
Favorites, History, etc.
BackRex - Internet Explorer Backup - Free Download
http://www.backsettings.com/internet-explorer-backup.html
Backsup all IE files, including Cookies and Favorites
I use this program and like it very much. I back up at least every two
weeks. That way, if I lose something i n between backups, it is not that
bad. You can also transfer the backups to a new computer if need be.
If you use OE for your emails and newsreader, here is an excellent backup
for that as well.
Outlook Express Backup programs

Hope this helps.
Jan :)

I don't believe this is possible. Even if you could recover the
individual files and store them into the correct folder, there's no way
to
get them back into index.dat. If they're not in index.dat, IE can't see
them.

We deleted our cookies for security purposes but we want to recover
them.
I've tried file recovery programs like File Scavenger and Undelete but
I
can't figure out where to recover the cookies to. How can I get my
cookies
back? Can anyone help?
