Have you right clicked your IE icons and checked their Properties to see if they are pointing to iexplore.exe properly? "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" is the usual Target path. Does the "regular" desktop IE icon (if you have one) - the one where you right click, choose Properties and your Internet Options come up - work?

Lately, the only way I can get IE to start is by clicking on a link, such as
"Windows Update" or an e-mail link. The normal icons don't work. There are
no other symptoms.
I routinely run Spybot, Ad-Aware, Registry Repair and Norton AV. Have also
recently run CCleaner and Hijack This. This does not appear to be a problem
with Malware.
Any other suggestions?
