Re: Can't browse PDF files

Hi Marla :-)

If the information provided did not work, what happened when you tried it?
If you got any error messages, post the exact wording.

Try the following and see if it helps:

IE browser software defaults Acrobat Reader to "OFF" to display PDF files.
You can restore the setting to"ON" by finding an Acrobat document and then
opening it. Then click
Edit> Preferences> Internet> check the box next to "Display PDF in browser"

Adobe Acrobat .pdf Files Appear as a Blank Window or Frame

also try installing the pdf.ocx file as per the following:

Troubleshooting problems opening PDF files in Internet Explorer window:

PDF Pages Are Blank Inside Web Browser Window

Ininstall the Acrobat Reader in Add/Remove Programs, go to the AR webstie
and install the latest version.

Hope this helps.

I have Adobe Reader version 7.0 installed, but also have Adobe Acrobat 5.0
installed. I am using Windows XP SP2. I have tried both disabling (first
use of Step #16, and enabling) the pages still show Done but are blank.

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, but, try the
following and see if it helps:

To turn on/of the Active Desktop

For XP - Try #16 in the list :

Internet Explorer Opens a Blank Window Loading a .pdf File [Q296207]

Explorer-View-Folder Options-File Types

The path to Folder Options may vary according to your operating
system. It may be:
Explorer-View-Folder Options
Explorer-Tools-Folder Options
Start-Settings-Folder Options
Start-Settings-Control Panel-Folder options.

Installing the Adobe Reader should set it as the default for .pdf

Hope this helps.
