See if you can do the following:
1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Click to clear the Use inline AutoComplete for Web addresses and Use
inline AutoComplete for Windows Explorer check boxes.
4. Click OK.
5. Reboot your computer. Press and hold down F8 while the computer boots to
display the Startup menu.
6. Choose Command Prompt Only, and then press ENTER.
7. Type the following items, pressing ENTER after each item:
cd\windows
deltree downlo~1
deltree tempor~1
deltree history
deltree cookies
NOTE: Press Y if you are prompted to confirm any deletion.
8. Reboot your your computer normally.
9. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
10. Click the Advanced tab.
11. Click to select the Use inline AutoComplete for Web addresses and Use
inline AutoComplete for Windows Explorer check boxes.
12. Click OK.
You can test the AutoComplete feature by typing several different addresses
in the Address box (one at a time): 1. Type www.msn.com and load the page.
2. Type www.yahoo.com and load the page.
3. Type www.msn and see if the AutoComplete list is displayed.

Hi,
I tried the Windows update site for updating and for checking the file
system I did sfc/scannow. Now Microsoft providing, online check up on the
OS
and its (Microsoft) components for any change or corrupt of the file. But
for this, I have to use IE only. Since my IE is not working, I couldn't
do
anything. Online checkup is very good option and only available for
genuine
products.

Hi guys,
I encountered an eorr. The event ID is 100. and the description is
Faulting application iexplorer.exe, version 6.0.2900. 2180, faulting
module
wininet.dll, version 6.0.2900.2518, fault address 0x00004cff.
Due to this problem, IE is not opening and if opened, immediately give
the
error, A problem has occured on the application and closed. Can you
help
out. I tried to upgrade or update the s/w, after encountering this
problem,
but it is not allowing. I am using Windows XP SP2.
