If you have XP, you can disable IE, but, unlike previous versions of IE, you
cannot uninstall it, as it is a core part of the Windows XP operating
system.
If you don't have the CD, check and see if you have a Restore point to a
date prior to the time you tried to uninstall or remove IE. If so, then run
the System Restore and see if that will either resolve the problem, or get
you back to your original problem and then we can help you from there. But,
by trying to remove IE, you have likely caused considerable damage to your
Xp system.

There is no direct Repair function for IE6 in XP. Here are some
alternatives:
1. With XP you need to go to Start>Run and type cmd to get the command
prompt, then type in "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes, and notice the
space between the c and the /.)
Have your XP CD handy and be prepared to go get a cup of coffee - it
takes a while. This will do the same thing as Repair IE6 for XP and a
lot more, that is find any corrupt system files and replace them. It
does not, however, re-register the various software components (except
possibly the ones it replaces?) AFAIK.
If you bought the laptop new I would call the company that you bought it
from and tell them to send you a CD ASAP. If you bought the laptop used
from another party, then you may have a problem. You should have the
Product number and may need to call Microsoft to find out if you can get a
CD from them. I don't know how they work these things with after use ware.
