Re: Page viewing settings follow-up

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Thanks, Jon. I no longer have to scroll across the bottom to read pages.
I bumped up from 800x600 to 1074x768.
Trouble is it kinda wierded out the all the relationships among font
styles and sizes, icons, etc. Some fonts appear smaller, some fonts appear
bigger or bold faced, the minimized IE browser window is smaller. The
desktop icons were initially tiny.
This was after I increased the font size to "larger", 125% of normal size,
120 dpi. Under the "effects" tab I chose "use large icons" which brought the
icons back to a reasonable size but fuzzy.
It seems like all the relative proportions are screwed up. Using the screen
wallpaper as a measuring device, I have about 25% more imagery across the
screen, which eliminated the bottom of page scroll, but my icons and font
are 25-50% smaller. I've improved it, but I can't get back to the relative
proportions like I had with 800x600 or like I have with XP. What gives?
Thanks.

It all depends on the way the web page is coded. One thing to try would be
to increase your screen resolution - right click an empty area on your
desktop, choose Properties, Settings tab, and increase the screen resolution
to something larger than 800x600.
