ie freez

Hi,
I am facing a strange problem when trying to access any web-site using
internet explorer. When I open the ie and click on the address drop down,
it takes a minute for the drop down to open. The ie freezes for a minute.
I face the same problem when I do "save as" in any application and then try
to choose the folder from the drop down.
Can anyone please find out the cause of this problem and help this fixed for
me?
